The PADI Emergency First Response (EFR) course teaches you the skills to respond confidently in a medical emergency. The course is open to everyone, whether you are a diver or not, and covers the core skills needed to help someone in a critical situation.
The course covers basic first aid and emergency care skills, including assessing a patient’s condition, performing CPR, administering oxygen, and providing care for a variety of injuries and illnesses. Participants will also learn how to use automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and how to provide first aid in emergency situations that occur both on land and in the water.
The PADI EFR course consists of both classroom and practical training sessions.

What You Should Know?
The PADI EFR course at Mr. Dolphin in Ao Nang covers two main areas: Primary Care (CPR, AED use, and airway management) and Secondary Care (patient assessment, wound care, first aid for injuries and illnesses, and emergency response in and around water). The course takes around 4 hours and is delivered in a single session at our Krabi dive center.
No. The PADI EFR course is open to everyone regardless of dive experience or certification level. There is no minimum age restriction. It is a general first response and CPR course that is useful for divers and non-divers alike.
Yes. The PADI Rescue Diver course requires a current EFR Primary and Secondary Care certificate completed within the past 24 months. If your certificate has expired, you will need to retake this course before starting Rescue Diver training at Mr. Dolphin in Krabi.
The EFR course takes approximately 4 hours and is typically run as a single morning or afternoon session. It combines classroom knowledge review with practical skill demonstrations, and you can usually schedule it on a day that fits around your other dive activities in Krabi.
